Xiaoyao Liu

Xiaoyao Liu is a PhD student in Ethnomusicology at University College Cork, Ireland. She is a Zhuang native of Yunnan, with research in Applied Ethnomusicology and Music Education. She is the instrument developer of the Nanwu Peacock Drum and the author of “Nanwu Peacock Drums” (2022) which is a percussion textbook highlighting the musical culture of Yunnan’s ethnic minorities. She has published seven articles in related fields since 2018-2021.
